Jacky
Fleming Jacky Fleming went to a suffragette school in London, emerging awesomely uneducated due to the teacher's inexplicable preference for Latin as a first language. A year at Chelsea School of Art and a degree in fine art at Leeds University greatly improved her table football technique. Other qualifications include A- for posture and a silver medal in Latin-American dancing. She spent eleven years teaching art as a foreign language. She lives in Yorkshire (England) and hates cooking. The cartoons on this page are taken from one or another of Jacky Fleming's hilarious books of cartoons and drawings published by Penguin: Falling in Love, Be a Bloody Train Driver, Never Give Up, Dear Katie and Hello Boys. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines and is available on postcards and T-shirts in the USA and Great Britain. Her drawings comprise the major visuals in The Peggy Seeger Songbook, Warts and All (Music Sales, 1998). |
